About the department

DEPARTMENT OF ASSAMESE :

Department of Assamese was established along with the establishment of the College in 1993 and attained affiliation in 2006. Honours / Major courses were introduced in 2011 to cater growing need for specialization and in-depth knowledge of the discipline. 

Objectives:

To develop students’ skills and provide knowledge regarding Assamese Art, Culture, Language, and Literature. The Department of Assamese of Dharmasala College also focuses to create human resources by enlightening holistic education among all the Students. 

Vision:

The goal of the department is to provide superior quality education, in addition to regular academic teaching and learning activities. The department of Assamese engages in research and extension initiatives to serve community and the society of the Dharmasala area and also entire Dhubri district.
